We share our survey data!
We recently shared the thermosurvey dataset which focuses on how older adults (65+) in Warsaw and Madrid experience urban heat and climate change. Our study combines traditional survey data with temperature and humidity measurements to provide a comprehensive view of participants’ thermal environments. Key topics of our survey included: thermal comfort and heat-related experiences; participants health; socioeconomic factors; as well as climate change perceptions.
The anonymised data are avilable in the Social Data Repository:
- In English https://doi.org/10.18150/JZZ7NR
- In Polish https://doi.org/10.18150/XRWJKS
We also described the dataset and the anonymisation process further in an article (dataset descriptor) published in the journal Scientific Data:
- Jancewicz, B., Wrotek, M. A thermosurvey dataset: Older adults’ experiences and adaptation to urban heat and climate change. Sci Data 11, 677 (2024). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-024-03509-4
We hope that our dataset will serve others in discovering how heat influences older adults’ daily lives and how to better prepare for climate change impacts.
